Our practice combines the best of two worlds to give you a healthcare experience that actually works for you.
By moving away from insurance-based billing, we are free from the 'speedy' appointment quotas of traditional clinics. This allows us to pass those savings on to you in the form of longer, unhurried appointments and direct access, wholesale pricing on labs. You are paying for a direct partnership with your provider, focused on your long-term wellness rather than insurance-mandated volume.
While traditional primary care often focuses on managing symptoms (the 'what'), a functional approach focuses on the root cause (the 'why'). We use the principles of functional medicine to help you optimize your health, addressing nutrition, lifestyle, and underlying imbalances to help you not just avoid illness, but truly thrive.
There was a time when care wasn't dictated by corporate spreadsheets or insurance mandates. It was a time when your provider was a trusted neighbor who knew your history, your family, and your life. That is the heritage we strive to bring back to practice. We believe you deserve a deep, authentic relationship where your provider actually knows you—not just your chart.

Because we focus on high-touch, preventative, and functional wellness, our practice is not structured to manage complex, acute, or high-acuity chronic conditions that require intensive, specialized oversight. To ensure you receive the most comprehensive care possible, we require that patients with these conditions maintain a separate primary care provider to oversee their disease-specific management:
Endocrine: Insulin-dependent diabetes, unstable thyroid disease, complex genetic diagnoses, or medication-managed autoimmune conditions (excluding Hashimoto’s).
Cardiac: Congestive heart failure, personal history of heart attack or stroke, uncontrolled hypertension requiring frequent adjustment, or chronic blood thinner management.
Respiratory: COPD requiring supplemental oxygen or regular nebulizer use, or severe, unstable asthma.
Mental Health: Current use of lithium, anti-psychotics, or dementia medications, as well as active suicidality.
Other Complex Conditions: Active cancer treatment, chronic kidney disease (Stage 3b or higher), severe liver disease, or seizure disorders.
Please Note: This list is not exhaustive. If you currently have, or develop during our time together, a condition that requires a different approach or a higher level of specialized care, we will partner with you to ensure you are connected to the right specialists, but we cannot serve as your primary manager for those specific needs.

We are happily equipped to handle everyday, non-emergency acute needs (like colds, flu, strep throat, rashes, or UTIs). However, our clinic is not set up to manage severe, high-risk, or urgent orthopedic and surgical concerns.
We are NOT equipped to handle the following acute issues:
Cardiovascular & Respiratory: Chest pain, shortness of breath, or syncopal (fainting) episodes
Severe Pain: Severe abdominal pain or sudden, severe headaches/migraines.
Injuries & Trauma: Falls, animal bites, sprains, strains, or suspected bone fractures.
Procedures & Wound Care: Lacerations requiring stitches, or minor in-office surgeries (such as biopsies, toenail removals, and abscess incision & drainage/I&D).
The issues listed above require immediate evaluation at an urgent care or emergency room. If you are experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest ER.

Our practice operates on a direct pay (cash pay) model, which allows us to prioritize quality time with patients and focus on personalized, root-cause functional medicine rather than the constraints of insurance-driven healthcare. Because of this, we do not bill insurance for clinical services.
However, you may still use your insurance for:
Laboratory Testing: Many labs ordered during our visits can be processed through your insurance provider if you choose.
Prescriptions: Any medications prescribed can be filled using your existing pharmacy benefits.
Medicare , Medicaid, Tricare:
Please be aware that as a cash-pay practice, we are unable to see patients covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or Tricare. Federal guidelines regarding these programs prevent us from providing services on a cash-pay basis to those enrolled in these plans. We are sorry for any inconvenience- we hate it too.
-
For Pay Per Visit: While we do not bill insurance, we can provide you with an itemized receipt (often called a "superbill") for your clinical visits. You are welcome to submit this to your insurance provider to see if they will provide any "out-of-network" reimbursement according to your specific plan benefits. We cannot guarantee whether your insurance company will accept these claims or provide reimbursement. Always check with employer/tax specialist for your ability to do this AND use an HSA- this is generally considered “double dipping” and is not allowed.
For Membership: Our memberships are designed as a flat, comprehensive partnership fee and are not eligible for insurance reimbursement.

No. Jireh Wellness is not a replacement for comprehensive health insurance. We strongly recommend that you maintain a major medical or high-deductible insurance plan to cover catastrophic events, surgeries, hospitalizations, and expensive specialist care. Our role is to be your partner for your day-to-day primary care and functional health needs.
-
Yes. Under current IRS guidelines, your monthly membership fees are generally considered a qualified medical expense, provided the total fee for your family does not exceed $300 per month. If your total fee exceeds this amount, the membership falls outside standard 'safe harbor' guidelines and should be paid via personal funds. The one-time Enrollment Fee is an administrative cost and is not HSA/FSA-eligible.
*Always check with your plan administrator or a tax professional first to ensure compliance with your specific plan rules.

No, we don’t lock you into rigid annual contracts because we believe you should stay with our practice because you want to, not because a piece of paper forces you to.
To support true continuity of care and allow us to build a comprehensive baseline for your health, we simply require an initial 3-month commitment. After that, your membership transitions to a flexible, month-to-month basis that you can cancel at any time with a 30-day written notice.
-
In the event you require a visit above your current membership tier, we will upgrade your membership for that month to the higher tier. You may then return to your preferred lower tier the next month.

We believe every individual is unique, which is why we avoid one-size-fits-all 'protocol' testing. Instead, we work collaboratively to determine which labs are necessary based on your specific symptoms and overall health presentation. While we have access to all standard diagnostic labs, we also offer advanced testing—including the DUTCH test, GI-MAP, OAT, and cortisol panels—to get to the root cause of your concerns.
-
Every care plan is unique to the individual and blends conventional and functional tools to support your wellness.
Our treatment approach focuses on:
Personalized Nutrition & Lifestyle: Tailored guidance on exercise, diet, and habits that fit your real life.
Targeted Supplementation: Evidence-based recommendations to fill nutritional gaps.
Prescriptions: Conventional medical management when needed.
We are team players here. If we believe you can benefit from specialized services like physical therapy, intensive nutrition counseling, or clinical infusions (such as iron or vitamins), we will happily coordinate your care and refer you to trusted specialists.
Note: For your convenience, our office location also houses independent practitioners including chiropractic and massage care. They offer additional wellness amenities, such as red light therapy and sauna sessions.

Jireh Wellness is a private, appointment-based practice. We are in the office for patient visits a few days each week, with our live booking portal kept current to reflect available appointment times.
We prioritize consistent communication throughout the week to support your health journey. Inquiries received before 3:00 PM are generally addressed the same day, while those received after 3:00 PM will be returned on the next business day.
